Santa Flavious

The Magical Journey of Santa Flavious
In the heart of the whispering North, where the stars shimmer like frost on ancient pine, there lives a legend wrapped in snow and wonder. They say he rides the winter wind in a sleigh of silver and bells, guided by reindeer that leap across the sky. With a laugh as warm as a hearth fire and eyes that twinkle like the Aurora Borealis, he is no ordinary man—he is magic made real.
For centuries, he has slipped through moonlit chimneys, leaving behind gifts and joy, reminding the world that kindness, hope, and the spirit of giving are the truest enchantments of all.
In the heart of Greater Houston, Texas—he is known as Santa Flavious.

Becoming Santa
Behind the beard and the red suit is a kind, funny-man who quietly blends into the Katy, Texas community during the off-season. But come Christmastime, he transforms into the embodiment of the season: joyful, generous, and unforgettable.
With an authentic beard and a finely tailored suit, Santa Flavious doesn’t just look the part—he becomes the very spirit of Christmas. For him, being Santa is not a role; it’s a calling.
The legend of Santa Flavious began in the middle of a 26-year career, first as a police officer, then dedicating nearly two decades to serving and protecting some of the most vulnerable children across Texas. From cop to navigating some of the state’s toughest child-abuse cases, Flavious brought compassion and heart to every encounter.

The Spark of Christmas
Flavious’ love for Christmas was planted early, growing up in the household of his Dutch mother, Anneke, who brought their home to life with tradition and magic every December. With each year, he witnessed the beautiful blend of Dutch and American Christmas customs—and his love for the season only grew stronger.
Years later, as a father himself, Flavious saw Christmas anew through the eyes of his own child. That wonder, that spark, never left him.
One holiday season, he was asked to portray Santa at his son’s high school Christmas production. Though the beard would be fake and the costume borrowed, something real awakened within him by the experience. But the most touching moment wasn’t on stage—it happened in the lobby before the show.
His father, Tom—who bore a striking resemblance to an off-duty “Santa” himself, but had lost his Christmas spirit after Anneke’s passing—arrived looking every bit like St. Nick. As children swarmed him for photos, something magical happened: for one night, Tom rediscovered his joy, and with it, rekindled that dormant flame of Christmas magic.
That evening, as Flavious made his grand entrance, he looked at his father, who stood out with his billowy white beard, seated in the front row and asked with a wink, “Are you trying to put me out of a job, sir?”
The crowd roared with laughter—and Flavious also found himself on the receiving end of that same Christmas magic.

In the beginning...
The Birth of Santa Flavious
A few years later, yuletide destiny came calling again. A local photographer needed a last-minute Santa for a holiday photo session. Flavious had his own genuine beard this time. The suit was already rented. The heart? Already there. He stepped in—and something magical happened.
Children’s eyes lit up. Adults were moved. And in that moment, Flavious realized that portraying Santa wasn’t just play—it was purpose.
After the photo session, a fun Santa parody video he shared online unexpectedly went viral—amassing over a million views. Was it coincidence? A wink from God? A much needed counter balance to a career where he had a front row to victimized children? Maybe it was even a gentle nudge from Anneke herself? All of the above? Whatever it was, Flavious knew this was bigger than him.
It was Christmas.
It was hope.
It was joy.

A Santa Like No Other
And so, with heart, intention, and a dash of childhood nostalgia, Santa Flavious was born—named after a mysterious, long-forgotten character from his youth. Not just another “Santa Bob” or “Santa John,” he chose a name children would remember, and a presence they’d never forget.
Over the next eight years, Santa Flavious became a beloved figure across East Texas. From leading the Longview Christmas Parade and lighting community trees, to celebrating with the world-famous Kilgore Rangerettes, the Dallas Stars organization, and even promoting Christmas for rock legends Twisted Sister—Santa Flavious brought cheer to audiences of every kind.
In 2023, he brought that same joy to the Greater Houston area, lighting up the halls of Texas Children’s Hospitals and creating cherished memories for countless others.

The Heart Behind the Beard
Santa Flavious isn’t just about appearances—he’s about impact. He listens. He sees. He feels when a child or adult needs an extra touch of joy. Whether it’s a warm hug, a kind word, or a twinkle in his eye, he makes sure every encounter is personal and meaningful.
Even after a decade of “Santa-ing,” his passion is as strong as ever. Because for Santa Flavious, it’s about more than sleigh bells and presents—it’s about connection. It’s about reminding people, especially those with heavy hearts, that there is still light in the world.
He often reflects on that special evening with his father, Santa Tom, and thinks: “If I can be a part of bringing joy to someone like that—someone who needs it most—then that’s the kind of Santa I want to be.”
And he knows… Anneke would’ve loved that too.
